“I Too Had A Love Story is an autobiographical tale of love by Ravinder Singh, a software engineer turned author, who rose to fame

with this book becoming a national bestseller. This story proves here the maximum truth and beautifully depicts the beauty and power of true

love. It is the narrative of the journey of meeting of two strangers through a matrimonial site to the point where their relation becomes the most precious gift of almighty. The writer has brought out the depth of their relationship through the living and graphic delineation of their conversation, feelings and emotions. The readers can feel the warmth and closeness in the lively and picturesque account of how they long to be with each other. The throbbing curiosity, the irrepressible apprehensions and the overpowering excitement and happiness to meet each other for the

first time takes the story to a crescendo of feelings, emotions and

actions. Soft and light hearted humour strewn throughout adds an entertainment quotient to the story. Not everyone in this world has the

fate to cherish the fullest form of love. Some are born just to experience the meaning of it. With the internet taking over a vital part of our lives,

people have resorted to finding soulmates online. Internet romance is not something alien to today’s generation and the world has seen enough such relationships that boomed over the internet and became successful over time.

Ravin and Khushi are the male and female protagonists of the novel. The novel starts with a reunion in Kolkata of Ravin and his three friends, Manpreet, Amardeep and Happy. They used to study in the same engineering college. During the reunion they discuss their future plans of getting married and all of them accept that they didn’t think about it. Happy suggests Ravin to visit and sign-up at Shaadi.com, an online matrimonial website. After the reunion, Ravin comes back to Bhubaneswar, where he works as an engineer for Infosys; and he registers at Shaadi.com. After a few days Ravin finds a girl named Khushi, a resident of Delhi, and an employee of CSC, Noida. They start talking to each other over phone and soon become good friends. They become curious about each other’s interests and find there are many similarities between them. After months of conversation over phone, they realise that they have already fell in love with each other. Very soon Ravin is asked to travel to the United States for an office assignment. He is

required to go to Delhi, where Khushi lives, to board the international flight. He decides to go to Delhi a day early and meet Khushi for the first time, and spend time with her."

Suddenly Aarohi is startled because Rohan hugs her from behind, placing his face on her neck. “What are you doing baby?” Rohan quizzes. She looks at Rohan for a second, "You woke up?" Rohan instantly replies, "Can I sleep without you?" Aarohi laughs. She says she's digging deep on Ravinder Singh's novel. Rohan kisses her forehead and goes to make tea. While Aarohi continues reading.

"In Delhi Ravin gets to Khushi along with her family and then departs for US. Ravin is constantly in touch with Khushi. After sometime, Khushi’s family visits Bhubaneswar and meet Ravin's parents. They decide the date of Ravin and Khushi’s engagement. The engagement was fixed on 14th February. The reason behind this is Khushi wants to be Ravin’s girlfriend and fiancé both on the valentine’s day. But just before the engagement, Khushi meets with a road accident

and is hospitalized in a critical condition. Despite all medical attempts

and prayers of Ravin, she dies after a few days.

The novel ends with

Ravin’s narration of his current mental condition. To him his life has become meaningless and he has lost interest in almost everything. "She died, I survived. And because I survived, I die everyday.

I Too Had A Love Story is a beautiful book to read if you are a fan of love stories, but with tragic endings. This is a book that perfectly illustrates that not every story ends on a happy note. With this book the writer has made his first love Khushi remain alive and immortal in the hearts of the people."

Holding the cup of tea, Aarohi murmurs, "She died, I survived. And because I survived, I die everyday."
